How It All Started

Brave Horse is a nature-based learning program rooted in Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) — a powerful, hands-on way for kids to build confidence, emotional awareness, and life skills through connection with horses.

Located on a peaceful farm just outside Armstrong, BC, Brave Horse offers private and small group sessions designed to support children — especially neurodivergent kids — in a safe, structured, and supportive environment.

At Brave Horse, the horses are more than animals — they’re co-facilitators, mirrors, and teachers. And the learning that happens here sticks for life.

The Brave Horse Difference

Nature-Based Healing and Growth

Brave Horse offers a peaceful, outdoor environment where people can step away from everyday stress, reconnect with nature, and focus on emotional well-being.

Animal-Assisted Support

Through interactions with horses, other farm animals, and a caring team, participants build confidence, develop life skills, and experience the proven therapeutic benefits of working with animals.

Personalized, Compassionate Programs

Every session is tailored to meet individual needs, whether for children, youth, or families — ensuring that each person feels seen, understood, and supported on their journey.

Brave Horse started with a simple truth: kids thrive when they feel safe, seen, and supported.

After years of working with children and families, Miranda Griffin saw a gap in the way traditional systems support emotional development — especially for kids who learn differently or have experienced trauma.

As a foster parent, psychology grad, and lifelong horse lover, Miranda knew the kind of transformation that happens when children connect with horses. So she built Brave Horse from the ground up — blending her experience, passion, and a herd of honest, intuitive horses to create something truly unique.

Today, Brave Horse is a growing team of four women who believe in creating brave spaces for kids to learn, lead, and discover their own strength — one hoofstep at a time.
